Our Investment Committee benefits from the contributions of Professor Bill Weinstein, who is International Business Professor Emeritus at Henley Management College and Fellow in Politics, Public Policy & Management Emeritus at Balliol College, University of Oxford. In his distinguished career Bill has worked for a number of multinational companies including IBM, Unilever and Shell, focussing on business management and strategy.

Julian Cooke

Julian joined VAM in 2013 as its Investment Director and manages the firm. He has over twenty-five years’ experience in asset management, first at Touche Remnant and then Govett Investments where he was the manager of investment trusts and open-ended funds specialising in smaller companies and emerging markets. Latterly he was the investment director at RM Walkden & Co Ltd, a customer-focused wealth management and taxation services company, which was sold to Rathbones in the course of 2012. Julian holds a degree in Modern History from Oxford University and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

Edward Hands

Edward joined VAM in 2014 as Investment Manager and was appointed to the board as Investment Director in 2017; he chairs the Investment Committee. Edward has over twenty years of experience starting first at Threadneedle then as a derivatives manager at Gartmore. He spent six years in investment banking at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, then joined Commerzbank as a senior portfolio manager and lately was responsible for portfolio management at Commonwealth Capital Management. Edward holds degrees in European Business Administration from the European Partnership of Business Schools. He is a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals and the CFA Institute.

Andrew Gibbs

Andrew has over thirty years of investment experience at global institutional and private client investment firms, including Manulife, New Star and Henderson Rowe. He has focussed on Asian and global equity investment. He joined as an Investment Director in 2019 from Broad Street Investment Management. He is a Fellow of CISI and holds a degree in History from Cambridge University.

Andrew Fargus

Andrew has over ten years of experience first as a Middle East analyst then since 2010 as an equity analyst at Hawkwood Capital; prior to that he was a professional triathlete. He holds a Chemistry degree from Oxford University and an MA in International Relations as well as the CFA charter; he joined as an Investment Analyst in 2018.

 

Lucy Kupczak

Lucy has over ten years of investment experience as head of research at CPN then a portfolio manager at Holden & Partners and Nexus Investment managers. She has a masters degree in Politics and Journalism from the University of Silesia.

Reece Venables

Reece joined in 2015 and is our Client Operations Manager. He worked at Ashcourt Rowan from 2011 in various roles including financial planning and was most recently leader of the on-boarding team. He holds the Investment Operations Certificate from CISI of which he is a member.

George Engbers

George joined VAM in 2023 and is our Client Relations Associate. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Edinburgh. George has also completed a programme of study at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability leadership in Sustainable finance. 

 

Lee Pittal

Lee Pittal

Lee is a Senior Financial Planner within Vintage Wealth Management. He manages a client bank, sits on the Investment Committee, and helps with business strategy.

He is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser, and qualified Investment Manager dealing with high net worth clients. He has over 30 years of experience in the financial planning and accountancy industry.

Lee was a Director of the Investment Management group of BDO where he worked until 2005. He was a partner of Nyman Libson Paul Chartered Accountants and founder and Chief Operations Officer of the NLP Financial Management Group which he sold in March 2021. He continued working at the NLP Financial Management Group until October 2023.

Lee has developed several investment opportunities for clients with one property development investment worth over £250 million. Whilst managing various financial management businesses he has always maintained an extensive client bank.

John Morton

John has had extensive experience in the industry including founding and building European Wealth as well as prior roles at Ashcourt Rowan and Aberdeen Fund Managers. He joined in 2019 as a director and sits on the investment committee.

Geoff Hartnell

Geoff has spent over thirty years in financial services and he is one of the founding directors of Vintage Asset Management. Geoff has extensive knowledge of the industry and is an alternating member of the investment committee.

 

Robert Stein

Ria has been Human Resources Manager at Vintage since 2011 and has over fifteen years of experience in employee relations, recruitment and general management.
