Edward Hands chairs the quarterly Investment Committee which evaluates the market outlook, sets asset allocation and reviews individual holdings. The committee includes Julian Cooke, Geoff Hartnell, Robert Stein and Professor Bill Weinstein, who is International Business Professor Emeritus, Henley Management College and Fellow in Politics, Public Policy & Management Emeritus, Balliol College, University of Oxford. In his distinguished career Bill has worked for a number of multinational companies including IBM, Unilever and Shell, focusing on business management and strategy.

Julian Cooke

Julian joined VAM in 2013 as its Investment Director and manages the firm. He has twenty years’ experience in asset management, first at Touche Remnant and then Govett Investments where he was the manager of investment trusts and open-ended funds specialising in smaller companies and emerging markets. Latterly he was the investment director at RM Walkden & Co Ltd, a customer-focused wealth management and taxation services company, which was sold to Rathbones in 2012. Julian holds a degree in Modern History from Oxford University and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Edward Hands

Edward joined VAM in 2014 as Investment Manager and was appointed to the board as Investment Director in 2017. He has over twenty years of experience starting first at Threadneedle then as a derivatives manager at Gartmore. He spent six years in investment banking at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, then joined Commerzbank as a senior portfolio manager and was then responsible for portfolio management at Commonwealth Capital Management. Edward is a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals and the CFA Institute.

Andrew Fargus

Andrew has ten years of experience first as a Middle East analyst then since 2010 as an equity analyst at Hawkwood Capital; prior to that he was a professional triathlete. He holds a Chemistry degree from Oxford University and an MA in International Relations as well as the CFA; he joined in October 2018.

Reece Venables

Reece joined in 2015 as our Client Relationship Manager. He worked at Ashcourt Rowan from 2011 in various roles including financial planning and was most recently leader there of the on-boarding team; he holds an Investment Operations Certificate.

Inga Kozasvili

Inga has been working as our Client Relations Administrator since 2016 following a career in marketing and fashion. She is studying for the Investment Management Certificate.

Darren Hymos

Darren joined in 2017 as our Business Development Manager. He brings over thirty-three years of experience in financial services covering many roles within sales and marketing. He has a diploma in financial services and full IMC qualifications.

Geoff Hartnell

Geoff has spent over thirty years in financial services and he is one of the founding directors of Vintage Asset Management. Geoff has extensive knowledge of the industry and sits on the investment committee.

Darryl Melzack

Darryl has spent over thirteen years in financial services and has been an important member of the Compliance team at Vintage.

Bernard Cunningham

Bernard’s role at Vintage Asset Management is in advising on marketing and on wider business development. He has over thirty years of experience in financial services and he has worked for a number of companies including Prudential, AXA and Scottish Widows.

Alan Temple

Alan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 and practiced as a sole practitioner for twenty-four years in London. He has been with Vintage since 2012 as head of the Finance Department.
